It has been said of volunteer organizations, as well as life, that you only get back what you put into it. The American Advertising Federation - Baton Rouge has been fortunate that so many of our members have taken this sentiment to heart. With the dedication and leadership of many, our club has won "Club of the Year" on the 7th District level nine times and has been recognized nationally as the "Club of the Year" three times. It is because of our members' commitment and involvement - locally, on the district level and nationally - that the AAF - Baton Rouge continues to shine. The AAF- Baton Rouge has many volunteer opportunities, from club-wide Christmas gift drives and public service advertising campaigns for area non-profits to our annual ADDY® Awards / Pinnacle Awards show and Bizarre Bazaar (Funky Furniture Auction). Learn more about the volunteer opportunities available to and get involved! If you just can't decide which committee to sign up for, contact any Board Member to find out what committee most needs your skills. If you have an hour to give or want to chair a major event, let us know and we'll find a way to help you get involved.

Diversity
Chair: Marielle Land-Howard & Karen Gaupp-Wozniak
Nationally, the advertising community lacks diversity. On a local level, minority participation in advertising is even more limited. The Diversity Committee seeks to generate intest in our profession through grassroots efforts targeting under-served high schools in Baton Rouge. To share your ideas and get involved, please contact Marielle at marielle@businessreport.com or Karen at karen@inkandair.biz.
Governmental Relations
Chair: Jeremy White
This committee monitors legal issues surrounding the advertising industry and keeps the board and the membership informed as issues arise. We may even need to go to the "Big House" or the big senate. All parties welcome. Contact Jeremy at editor@redshtickmagazine.com to get involved.
Media Auction
Chair: Saundra Lane
The Media Auction is scheduled for (TBD). While this event traditionally features a media auction with TV, radio, print and outdoor sold to the highest bidder, we've learned that anything sells - gift cards for restaurants, spas, garden supplies, CDs - even a personal service such as cooking a specialty meal or yard work! Contact Saundra at saundie@aol.com for more information or to make a donation.
Membership
Co-Chairs: Bridget Riley & Lisa Stansbury
This committee is perfect for meeting, mixing and mingling with all of the members of Ad Fed! We need folks to help with the phone committee, the sign-in table at membership meetings, the Membership Drive and member surveys. We'd even like to create a sub-committee for the purpose of updating our Membership Directory. If you joined Ad Fed to network, here is your chance! Contact Bridget at bridgetriley@gerrylane.com or Lisa at lstansbury@lhcr.org.
Programs & Workshops
Programs Chair: Thom Harris
Workshops Chair: Scott Thompson
These committees are always on the lookout for speakers for Ad Fed membership meetings and workshops. Volunteers needed to find speakers and offer creative help for flyers, announcements, newsletter articles, event photography and more. The Workshops Committee needs designers and sales-oriented members to assist with conducting forums and workshops. Ideas welcome for small workshops that focus on arts/graphic arts or special interest advertising-related topics. Workshops promote professional development for members, while forums bring together Baton Rouge's brightest to discuss topics affecting the local, state and national advertising communities. Contact Thom at Thom@ThomHarrisDesign.com or Scott at scott.thompson@nbc33tv.com for more information.
